What does a Finance Broker do?
A Finance Broker works in their client's best interest to secure the most suitable loan product to help achieve their objective. They have access to a vast array of lenders where they can compare the bank's offerings all in one go without you having to manually go to each bank and see what their best offer is. They also do all the paperwork, apply for the loan on your behalf, liaise with the bank and other parties involved to ensure a seamless process.
Am I at a disadvantage by using a broker and not just going straight to a bank?
No. Its actually quite the opposite. Broker's have many tools to get the best outcome for their clients. We can see all the bank's products in one spot and leverage one bank's offering against another to make them fight for you. Whereas if you went straight to a bank, you might get stuck at a higher interest rate as you wouldn't know if there is another lender offering the same product at a much cheaper rate. As a Credit Adviser, an Accredited Mortgage Consultant and a Full Member of the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia, we comply with National Consumer Credit Protection (NCCP) regulations of Australia putting your best interest above everything else, so you can rest assured that you will be looked after.
Do you charge a fee for your services?
Generally no, but in some specific scenarios, yes. Depending on the work involved, we may charge a fee for our services but we will always let you know in advance so there won't be any surprises.
Isn't the broker's commission added onto my loan fees from the bank?
No. This is a common misconception. The bank pays the broker for bringing a new customer to them and doing all the hard work for them. It is actually illegal for the bank to charge your a premium for using a broker. It would be cheaper to use a broker as we have backchannel access to negotiate with banks and get a better interest rate.
I live on the other side of Australia. Can I still use your services?
Most definitely. There are no physical limitations to work with us. Our clients are scattered all over Australia from NSW, VIC, QLD, SA & WA. Any meetings or ID checks can be done via video call and any signing can be done with e-signatures.
